The Government of Curaçao has officially transferred a key land reservation in the Rif area to the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), marking a significant step forward in enhancing the island’s cruise industry. This development will enable the expansion of the cruise terminal’s logistics capacity, allowing Curaçao to better accommodate the increasing number of visitors and support the growth of its tourism sector.
The decision comes as Curaçao’s cruise sector continues to thrive. In 2024, the island recorded a historic 834,530 cruise arrivals, marking a 17 percent increase compared to 2023 and surpassing initial projections by 4 percent. Impressively, this growth also represents a 3 percent rise over the peak year of 2019, further solidifying Curaçao’s status as one of the top cruise destinations in the Caribbean.
