This milestone, a staggering 32% increase from 2023, cements the CPL’s place among the most-watched cricket tournaments worldwide.

The CPL’s meteoric rise in popularity is attributed to phenomenal growth in critical markets, including India, the Caribbean, and the United States, as well as a marked surge in social media engagement. Fans across the globe tuned in through premier broadcasting deals spanning regions such as the Middle East, the UK, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa. Meanwhile, CPL’s YouTube and Facebook channels ensured universal access to cricket enthusiasts in other territories.

A historic tournament

The 2024 season featured 34 electrifying matches played across six cricket-loving nations—Antigua, Barbados, Guyana, St. Kitts, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad. The Saint Lucia Kings emerged as champions for the very first time, clinching their title in an unforgettable final at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence.

This triumphant season has amplified the league’s global footprint and created unforgettable moments for its ever-expanding fanbase.

Pete Russell, CEO of CPL, expressed his elation at the league’s extraordinary achievement:
“This milestone is a monumental achievement for the CPL. Crossing the one-billion-viewership mark has been a long-standing goal, and reaching 1.13 billion demonstrates the immense appeal of the league across the Caribbean and worldwide. We’re thrilled with this growth and are eager to build on this momentum for even greater success in 2025 and beyond.”

Russell’s comments highlight not only the league’s immense popularity but also its strategic ambition to sustain and exceed this remarkable benchmark.
