At just 23 years old, Alfred has already etched her name in history. The St. Lucian sprinting sensation clinched gold in the 100m and a silver in the 200m at the Paris Olympics, before capping off her 2024 season by winning the Diamond League 100m series title in Brussels. Now, she has her sights firmly set on defending her coveted Diamond Trophy in 2025.

The Oslo and Stockholm meet represent pivotal opportunities for Alfred to kickstart her season with a strong performance, setting the stage for the highly anticipated Diamond League final in Zurich.

Scandinavian dreams

Alfred is slated to grace the BAUHAUS Galan in Stockholm on June 12, followed closely by the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 15. Speaking ahead of her Scandinavian tour, Alfred shared her excitement about competing in these renowned European cities.

“Visiting the Scandinavian countries is one of my dreams. I look forward to feeling the hospitality from the Scandinavian spectators, and hope to live up to the standard of these two meetings and to give them a memorable performance,” Alfred expressed, brimming with enthusiasm.

Eyeing global glory

For Alfred, the Diamond League isn’t just about securing titles—it’s also a critical stepping stone towards her ultimate goal for the year: capturing her first outdoor world title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September.

“The upcoming Diamond League season is very important because I won’t be having any trials for the World Championships,” Alfred explained. “So, I hope these races put me closer to my goals for Japan.”

As one of the sport’s most dynamic athletes, Alfred’s participation in the Oslo and Stockholm meets will undoubtedly be a highlight of the season, drawing fans from around the globe eager to witness her artistry on the track.

With her Scandinavian adventure marking the beginning of what promises to be an exhilarating season, Julien Alfred’s journey through the Diamond League circuit is sure to captivate audiences and solidify her status as one of the greatest sprinters of her generation.
