The resumption of diplomatic relations between Grenada and China in 2005 marked the beginning of a journey built on collaboration, mutual understanding, and shared aspirations. Today, we reflect on this journey and proudly affirm that our partnership has brought significant benefits to both the people of Grenada and China, contributing greatly to our national development.

The 13 cooperation agreements were signed by Grenada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Export Development, Joseph Andall, alongside Minister for Economic Development, Planning, and Cooperatives, as well as Agriculture and Lands, Forestry, and Marine Resources, Lennox Andrews.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell welcomed this significant achievement for the people of Grenada.

“The 20th anniversary demonstrates growth; the seed that was planted back in 2005 has blossomed into a tree that is bearing fruit for both the people of Grenada and China through agriculture, infrastructure, cultural exchanges, and healthcare. Through these agreements, we continue to build a stronger bridge of collaboration that will bring tangible benefits to our people, creating new opportunities for growth and development,” said Prime Minister Mitchell.

“The Government of Grenada and the People’s Republic of China celebrate this significant milestone in the history of our two nations: twenty years of enduring friendship, mutual respect, and productive diplomatic relations. The signing of these agreements serves as a testament to the strength and depth of our partnership, the achievements we have realised together, and the promising future that lies ahead.”
