From December 8th to December 15th, Duffy Square (between 45th and 46th Streets) is home to the Dominican Republic Dome—a vibrant celebration of the island’s culture, cuisine, and tourism. The event, open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, is free to the public.

The Dome invites visitors to explore the Dominican Republic’s rich heritage through a variety of engaging experiences:

  • Authentic Cuisine: Visitors can sample traditional Dominican dishes such as sancocho, asopao, and morisoñando, alongside desserts like concón de leche and refreshing tropical drinks made from mango and chinola.
  • Cultural Performances: Daily showcases of merengue and bachata bring the rhythm of the island to life, with interactive dance performances that invite the audience to join in.
  • Interactive Displays and Giveaways: Guests can participate in cultural exhibits and enter raffles for a chance to win trips to the Dominican Republic by sharing photos with hashtags #DRInTimesSquare and #TasteTheParadise.

The event also highlights the Dominican Republic’s tourism opportunities beyond its capital, Santo Domingo. Visitors can learn about Punta Cana’s Katmandu Park, La Romana’s picturesque beaches, Bayahibe’s Blue Flag coasts, and Dominicus’ world-class golf courses and marinas. Representatives are on hand to answer questions and provide insights into the island’s diverse attractions.

Among the standout experiences is the chance to sample Inaru hot chocolate, made with real chocolate bars and packed with natural nutrients, and Coco Racky, a mouthwatering coconut candy. Visitors leave with not just memories but also branded keepsakes and travel information to inspire their next vacation.

For New Yorkers or visitors to the city, the Dominican Republic Dome offers a unique escape from the winter cold and a glimpse into the vibrant culture of this Caribbean gem. Don’t miss your chance to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Dominican Republic right here in NYC!
