JOHN’S, Antigua— In a surprising turn of events, Nyssa Pierre, a seasoned Trinidadian professional, has stepped down as Communications and Media Manager for Cricket West Indies (CWI) after only two months in the role.
Pierre announced her departure on Facebook, offering a poignant farewell to the organization while withholding specific reasons for her decision.
“Dear friends, family, and colleagues. It was a short innings, but today I announce my departure from Cricket West Indies,” she revealed in the heartfelt post.
A short but impactful contribution
Despite her brief time at CWI, Pierre expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the storied legacy of West Indies cricket. “I am thankful for the opportunity to continue my contributions to the regional and international cricket landscape in my brief time at the organization,” she wrote.
Her statement reflected her unwavering passion for the game and its cultural significance in the Caribbean. “A years-long cricket and West Indies fan, I will always rally hard!”
Pierre’s departure will not mark the end of her influence within the region. She reassured colleagues and supporters that her work in international development and government advisory would continue to serve the Caribbean. “I remain in service to the region through my ongoing work in international development and government advisory,” Pierre added.

Pierre joined Cricket West Indies in September and was stationed at the organization’s headquarters at the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) in Antigua. Her appointment was seen as a move to bring fresh energy to CWI’s communications strategy.
