Broward Vote-By-Mail deadline passes ahead of November 5th General Election

Any requests made after the deadline will not be processed for this election, leaving in-person voting or early voting as the remaining options for those who missed the cutoff.

For voters who successfully requested a VBM ballot, they have several options for returning it. Completed ballots can be mailed using the provided postage-paid envelope or dropped off at one of Broward’s Secure Ballot Intake Stations (Drop Boxes). For voters still planning to submit their ballots, it’s crucial to ensure they are received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Night, November 5, 2024.

As of Thursday morning, Florida election officials reported that 1,752,088 Vote-By-Mail (VBM) ballots have been provided to voters for the upcoming November 5th General Election. Out of these, 1,672,046 ballots have already been returned, with Democrats holding a slight lead in the number of ballots cast.

Broward County is experiencing robust early voting numbers as over 179,000 Vote-By-Mail (VBM) ballots have been provided to residents. As of Thursday morning, more than 130,000 of these ballots have already been cast, with Democrats leading the tally by submitting 73,000 ballots.

To help residents with the Vote-By-Mail process, election officials provided several tips, including:

  1. Carefully follow the instructions included with the ballot.
  2. Use a black pen to complete your ballot.
  3. Avoid handing your ballot to anyone you do not know personally.
  4. Sign the ballot envelope in the designated area, marked by a red X.
  5. Return the ballot as early as possible to avoid any delays.

Important Election Information:

  • Early Voting: Available from October 21 to November 3, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
