Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has been awarded the prestigious Fostering Diverse Schools Demonstration Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, securing $1 million in funding over the next two years.
This grant aims to enhance educational equity and ensure that all students have access to high-quality education, making M-DCPS the only school district in Florida to receive this award.
With this new funding, the district plans to strengthen its data capacity at the school level, which will allow for a deeper understanding of student needs. The grant will also fund comprehensive market research to better identify and address community needs. Over the next two years, M-DCPS will use these insights to develop targeted strategies aimed at improving student achievement and fostering stronger community engagement.
The grant will be managed by the Office of Strategic Planning & Initiatives, in collaboration with various departments across the district. Community partners, parents, students, teachers, and local businesses will also play a key role in shaping the district’s comprehensive plan, which focuses on student success and equity.
