The win, their third consecutive in the tournament, ensures Jamaica’s place at the top of their group with a perfect record and a flawless defensive showing.

Jamaica controlled the game from the outset, applying early pressure on T&T and dictating the tempo of the match. Their persistence paid off in the 28th minute when Davion Clarke found the net. Despite facing tight defensive pressure on the edge of the penalty box, Clarke’s precision shot gave Jamaica a well-deserved lead.

Strong group stage performance

The Boyz extended their advantage just a minute into the second half, capitalizing on a costly error from T&T defender Lucas Shaw. Shaw’s misplaced pass allowed Jamaica to launch a swift counterattack, with Corlando Morris dribbling past two defenders before calmly slotting the ball home for Jamaica’s second goal of the night.

This victory capped off a strong group stage performance for the Boyz, who have now won all three of their matches, securing a maximum of nine points. Trinidad and Tobago trail in second place with six points, while St. Kitts and Aruba are third and fourth, both with a single point. Notably, Jamaica has maintained a perfect defensive record, having not conceded a single goal in the tournament so far. Their campaign began with a 2-0 victory over St. Kitts, followed by a dominant 6-0 win against Aruba.

Kelvin Brown has emerged as Jamaica’s top goalscorer in the tournament, netting four goals in the opening match against St. Kitts. Kyle Hussey follows closely behind on the scoring chart with two goals.

With their semi-final spot secured, the Boyz will now shift their focus to their final group stage match against Aruba on Tuesday. The game, set for 5:30 p.m. (Jamaica time) at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, presents an opportunity for Jamaica to finish as group winners and continue their momentum into the knockout rounds.
