Jamaica’s Miss Universe coronation ceremony 2024 has been have postponed due to the imminent arrival of Hurricane Beryl. The ceremony was scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, the organization said the safety and well-being of the reigning queens, contestants, staff, and loyal supporters are of the utmost importance.
It noted that the grand coronation will still take place and said stakeholders will be promptly notified of a new date once it is confirmed.
The organizers urged Jamaicans to priorities their safety and the safety of those around them.
“We also encourage all to stay informed, stay safe, and let us navigate this challenging situation together. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” the Miss Universe Jamaica organization said.
Doctors, businesswomen and university students tally among the 37 semi-finalists who will compete for the 2024 Miss Universe Jamaica title.
