Hosted by the Caribbean Community (Caricom), the conference opened with Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley underscoring the profound cultural and emotional significance of cricket in the West Indies, emphasizing its role in uniting the region and fostering national pride.
Acknowledging the challenges facing West Indies cricket, Rowley highlighted the need for professional management of resources and suggested revisiting the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) contract to ensure it benefits the region.

Guyana President Dr. Irfaan Ali emphasized the importance of strategic planning and brand repositioning to revitalize the cricketing ecosystem, highlighting the link between cricket and regional economies, tourism, and cultural integration.
Ali proposed an integrated approach that incorporates factors beyond the boundary, including entertainment, tourism, and merchandising, to redefine the West Indies cricket brand and expand its global appeal.
As discussions unfold at the conference, participants are committed to exploring innovative solutions and leveraging regional strengths to address the challenges facing West Indies cricket, ultimately aiming to restore its legacy of excellence and prominence on the world stage.
