World Championships 100m hurdles silver medallist Britany Anderson made a triumphant return to the event, securing an impressive victory at the X Athletics Meeting in Milano, Italy on Saturday.
Mere days after marking the anniversary of her knee injury suffered in 2023, Anderson stormed to victory in 13.23 seconds. Despite showing good speed but lacking rhythm, Anderson managed to hold off the challenge of Elena Carraro, who finished a close second in 13.30 seconds. Giulia Piazzi took third place with a season’s best of 14.13 seconds.
Anderson’s win in the 100m hurdles was just the beginning of her success on the day. Later, she contributed to her training group’s dominant victory in the 4x100m relay. Alongside teammates Amy Hunt, Mabounduo Kone, and Daryll Neita, Anderson led Team Air to victory in 43.21 seconds.
The Team Air quartet’s performance was so impressive that their winning time was more than five seconds faster than the second-place Cus Pro Patria Milano ‘B’ team, who finished in 47.65 seconds. Additionally, they finished five seconds ahead of Cus Insubria Varese Como ‘A,’ who secured third place in 48.66 seconds.
