Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced its comprehensive four-year strategic plan for the period 2024-2027, titled “The Long Run.”
Presented to the Board of Directors during a recent meeting in Antigua and discussed at the Annual General Meeting, this strategic blueprint represents a significant milestone for CWI and West Indies cricket.
Describing 2023 as a year of recovery and groundwork, CWI Chief Executive Officer Johnny Grave emphasized the importance of “The Long Run” in shaping the future of the organization and West Indies cricket. Grave highlighted the plan’s focus on strengthening the cricket system at all levels and maximizing commercial value while maintaining financial stability.
Stakeholder involvement has been integral to the development of “The Long Run,” with input from the Board of Directors, shareholders, and wider cricket community. Grave emphasized the need for active engagement from stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the strategic plan.

“The Long Run” will outline key objectives and initiatives aimed at fostering growth, sustainability, and excellence in cricket. It will include measures to enhance governance, player development, grassroots programs, fan engagement, and commercial partnerships. The plan aligns with CWI’s overarching vision to elevate West Indies cricket regionally and globally.
Developed internally, the strategic plan reflects a collaborative effort by the CWI management team, with input from staff and players. Led by Business Planning Manager Lynford Inverary, the process involved extensive consultations and valuable insights from cricket stakeholders.
As CWI embarks on this ambitious journey outlined in “The Long Run,” it aims to strengthen its position in the cricketing world and drive positive change within the organization and the wider cricket community. With a clear roadmap in place, CWI is poised to realize its vision for the future of West Indies cricket.
