The summit serves as the preeminent decision-making body for the 120-member state movement, supplemented by 18 observer countries and 10 observer organizations.

Prime Minister Gonsalves played a pivotal role at the summit, addressing the closing ceremony.

A sentimental visit to Makerere University

A highlight of Prime Minister Gonsalves’ visit to Uganda was his return to Makerere University.

This esteemed institution held profound personal significance for him, as it was where he pursued his doctoral studies nearly 52 years ago.

During this nostalgic visit, Gonsalves embarked on a campus tour and had the opportunity to reconnect with the university’s faculty and students.

The diplomatic delegation

Accompanying Prime Minister Gonsalves on this diplomatic mission were prominent members of his delegation.

The delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Keisal Peters; Ambassador Rhonda King, and Security Officer, Kendal Horne.

The NAM Summit convenes once every three years.
