The police in St. Vincent and the Grenadines have ruled out foul play in the death of Rohan Adams, a former national junior lawn tennis star.
Reports are that his body was discovered by revelers departing from the annual Nine Mornings festivities in the city on Saturday
A suspected tragic outcome of cocaine addiction
Authorities suspect that 49-year-old Adams, who had been battling cocaine addiction and had recently been hospitalized, may have fallen victim to the grim consequences associated with drug abuse.
While there is no evidence of foul play, law enforcement is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his passing.
The struggles of Rohan Adams
Adams had faced numerous struggles throughout his life, with repeated attempts at rehabilitation ending in disappointment. Often living on the streets of Kingstown, he scraped by through odd jobs like vehicle washing.
In 2006, Grant Connell, a lawyer and lawn tennis enthusiast whom Adams had defeated in a junior championship, made one of several well-intentioned efforts to help the talented athlete.
