Escalation of conflict and humanitarian crisis

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) has been engaged in continuous indiscriminate bombing in Gaza.

This campaign has resulted in the tragic loss of over 11,000 innocent lives, with a significant portion being women and children. The relentless bombing has left a trail of destruction, including hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure.

Mass displacement and humanitarian struggles

More than 1 million Gazans have been internally displaced due to the conflict, exacerbating the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region.

The Israeli-imposed siege on Gaza has severely limited access to basic necessities such as water, food, electricity, and medical supplies. As a result, countless lives have been lost.

Violations of international law and human rights

Belize condemns Israel’s actions in Gaza since October 7, 2023, as violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and the human rights of Gazans.

The Government of Belize has repeatedly voiced its concerns over the actions of the IDF in Gaza and has called for an immediate ceasefire.

Ongoing pleas for ceasefire and humanitarian aid

Despite appeals to Israel to implement an immediate ceasefire and allow unhindered access to humanitarian supplies in Gaza, the situation has not improved.

Belize continues to renew its call for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded access to humanitarian supplies, and the release of all hostages, demonstrating its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Gaza.
