Henry ‘Busha’ Stennett, a well-known Jamaican broadcaster who is considered one of the greatest voices on Jamaican radio died on Sunday after ailing for some time, according to reports.
Stennett was an executive producer at Radio Jamaica (previously known as RJR 94FM) until March 2006. He retired after decades on the air as one of the station’s prominent voices.
Gary Allen, Chief Executive Officer of RJRGLEANER Communications Group, expressed sadness at the news, saying that Stennett had been one of the household names and was a loved personality on Radio Jamaica for many years.
Allen also noted Stennett’s work on the Evening People Show and news presentation and highlighted his work in delivering morning traffic reports.
“An excellent voice, one of the best voices radio has heard,” Allen said.
Allen said that the last few months of the former broadcaster’s life had been difficult as he recently lost his wife and son.

“It would have been a very difficult time for him. On behalf of the entire RJRGLEANER family, we want to extend our sympathies to his close former colleagues… and to lift up his family in our prayers and to give them whatever support that we can offer to them at this time,” he said.
