Amidst the dazzling lights and bustling energy of Times Square, the Jamaica Tourist Board’s 70th celebratory event was epic — another moment for the history books.
Staged at the Hard Rock Hotel, Times Square, the event brought Jamaican culture to the crossroads of the world during Caribbean Week in New York City.
The coveted invite-only event brought together luminaries, cultural and fashion icons to celebrate with Jamaica’s tourism officials, industry partners, and key figures behind the destination’s remarkable achievements and success as a global tourism brand.
As guests poured in, so did flutes of champagne, Jamaica’s popular Red Stripe, Appleton rum punch, and other spirits — all complemented by passing trays of oxtail rolls, jerk chicken tacos, and Jamaican beef cocktail patties.
The party vibes were unmistakably Jamaican, with iconic Reggae Dancehall music taking center stage.
The euphoric evening featured the legendary “Stone Love” sound system with DJ Rory, who delivered a compelling revue of Dancehall Reggae hits from the seventies to the present, captivating a fully packed house.
A dynamic performance by Reanno Devon Gordon, known as “Busy Signal,” further invigorated the room, paying homage to brand JAMAICA with “JAMAICA LOVE” and “HAPPY BIRTHDAY,” complete with its infectious hook: “Happy Birthday mi fren. One more year pon dem.”
The Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, radiating pride, stated that it is Jamaica’s natural beauty, warm hospitality, vibrant culture, investment in infrastructure, and human capital that have contributed to shaping the brand JAMAICA, which has demonstrated resilience over the past 70 years.
“As we prepare to welcome over four million visitors in 2025, our growth is a testament to seven decades of strong partnerships, unwavering dedication, and the welcoming spirit of the Jamaican people.”
Jamaicans and friends of the destination are encouraged to take advantage of the Jamaica Tourist Board’s current promotion: “70 Days of JAMAICA Love,” which features island-wide specials for bookings made from June 4 to August 12 — valid for travel through April 2026.
