Resuming the day at 76 for four in their second innings, the Scorpions were bowled out for 234, with Morris shining with a quickfire 68 runs. Test batsman Nkrumah Bonner contributed 45 runs, while Gordon Bryan added a patient 31.

Seamer Darius Martin led the Volcanoes’ bowling attack with four wickets, supported by Shamar Springer and Kenneth Dember, who claimed two wickets each.

Chasing a modest target of 53 runs for victory, the Volcanoes overcame the early loss of Kimani Melius to secure a comfortable win. Jeremy Solozano (29 not out) and Johann Jeremiah (22 not out) guided their team to victory with an unbroken 49-run partnership for the second wicket.

Bonner and Bryan Stand

Despite the loss, Bonner and Bryan’s resilient partnership of 39 runs for the fifth wicket provided a glimmer of hope for the Scorpions. Bonner’s innings of 45 runs, accompanied by Bryan’s gritty knock of 31 runs, kept the Scorpions’ hopes alive momentarily.

Romaine Morris’s innings was the highlight of the Scorpions’ second innings. His aggressive knock of 68 runs, which included seven fours and two sixes, propelled the Scorpions past the 200-run mark. Morris showcased his potential with a fearless display of batting, providing some resistance against the Volcanoes’ bowling attack.

After Morris’s valiant effort, the Volcanoes’ bowlers tightened their grip on the game, eventually dismissing the Scorpions to secure a comprehensive victory. Kimani Melius’s early breakthrough with the ball set the tone for the Volcanoes’ dominance, as Solozano and Jeremiah guided their team to a resounding win.

Despite Morris’s commendable performance, the Windward Islands Volcanoes displayed superior teamwork and skill to emerge victorious in the contest.
