Reggae Boyz head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson believes that the team’s defeat against the United States in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final can serve as a catalyst for growth.
Despite the last-minute own goal that led to their defeat, Jamaica ended the tournament on a positive note with a third-place finish after defeating Panama 1-0 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on Sunday.
Hallgrimsson praised the team’s response to the loss, noting their exemplary togetherness and support for each other.
“For me, this is a moment we use to grow as a team, and the bonding after this game was really good,” he emphasized.

“We can grow from this loss against the US, and I hope that the team’s play will improve after this experience,” he added.
Looking ahead, Hallgrimsson emphasized the need to prioritize their approach to upcoming tournaments, including the World Cup qualifiers in June and the Copa America in July.
“Our work now is to start to focus on the next games, and it’s a lot of games. The coaches have already started to work on how we are going to do our next two months,” he concluded.
