Lorne names 22 Reggae Girlz for Olympic Games play-off against Canada

Reggae Girlz head coach Lorne Donaldson has selected 22 players to represent Jamaica in their home and away play-off series for the 2024 Olympic Games Qualifying.

The first game is slated for Kingston’s National Stadium on September 22, with the return leg scheduled for four days later at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.

The players will assemble in Jamaica on September 19 and the winner of the two-game tie will advance to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, alongside fellow CONCACAF representative, the United States of America.

The winner will also punch a direct ticket to the inaugural CONCACAf Women’s Gold Cup, which takes place in the US from February 17 through March 10, next year, while the loser will drop into a Women’s Gold Cup Qualifying Group A which includes Panama and Guatemala.

The three teams will play home and away starting October 25 with the loser facing Panama away.

2024 Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup qualifying schedule:

Panama vs Jamaica or Canada on October 25

Canada or Jamaica vs Guatemala on October 29.

Canada or Jamaica vs Panama on November 29.

Guatemala vs Canada or Jamaica on December 3.

The winner of this three-team group would advance to the Women’s Gold Cup Group stage, alongside two other Group A winners. The second-place finishers in these three Group A will join three Group B winners in the Women’s Gold Cup preliminaries to kick off the competition.

The 22-member squad is as follows: Sydney Schneider, Rebecca Spencer, Liya Brooks, Allyson Swaby, Chantelle Swaby, Konya Plummer, Deneisha Blackwood, Tiernny Wiltshire, Tiffany Cameron, Vyan Sampson, Drew Spence, Atlanta Primus, Khadija Shaw, Jody Brown, Solai Washington, Kameron Simmonds, Trudi Carter, Paige Bailey-Gayle, Cheyna Matthews, Olufolasade Adamolekun, Kayla McKenna, Sashana Campbell.
