Frazsiers Whip, winners of the 2022/23 Jamaica Women’s Premier League, will be Jamaica’s representative in the first-ever CONCACAF Women’s Champions Cup.
This new tournament, featuring clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, serves as the pathway for qualification to the FIFA Women’s Club World Cup. With 11 clubs from seven Member Associations confirmed, including teams from Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States, Frazsiers Whip will compete against top-level competition.
Despite the acknowledged gap in quality between Jamaica’s Women’s League and other professional leagues in the region, Interim Reggae Girlz Head coach Xavier Gilbert sees the tournament as an opportunity for exposure and growth for local players.
The official draw is set for June 6, with matches expected to commence in August. The tournament format includes a Preliminary Round, Group Stage, and Knockout Stage, culminating in the crowning of the first-ever CONCACAF Women’s Champions Cup winner at a centralized venue.
