Several key players, including Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, and Shimron Hetmyer, have opted out of the tour for personal reasons, with Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers also absent. However, the return of experienced opener Evin Lewis and the surprise inclusion of Andre Fletcher at age 36 headline the squads.

Rovman Powell will captain the T20I side in the three-match series from October 10 to 17, with Roston Chase serving as vice-captain. New additions include all-rounder Shamar Springer and fast bowler Terrance Hinds, both earning their first senior team call-ups. For the ODI squad, Shai Hope will lead, with Jewel Andrew making his debut alongside returning players Brandon King, Sherfane Rutherford, and Hayden Walsh Jr. The ODI series will run from October 20 to 27.

West Indies head coach Daren Sammy expressed excitement about assessing emerging talents in the absence of senior stars, viewing the series as a key opportunity to evaluate the squad’s depth for future international tournaments.
