A man and a woman were stabbed inside a Fort Lauderdale home early Friday, and police say the alleged attacker — who is known to both victims — is in custody.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers responded to the 1400 block of Southwest 32nd Court around 2 a.m. after a 911 call reported a stabbing. Investigators believe the incident was domestic in nature.
Police said the call came from a neighbor after a wounded man sought help. “The caller advising a naked male came up to his window and advised he was stabbed. Caller also advising that the subject is bleeding. That’s all the information we have at this time,” a dispatcher said in radio traffic.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transported the man to a nearby hospital. His condition has not been released.
Responding officers entered the residence and found a woman with life-threatening injuries. She was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police said the alleged suspect was located inside the home and detained without further incident. Authorities stressed that the stabbing appears to be an isolated case.
“This is an isolated incident,” officials said, adding that the investigation remains active and details are subject to change.
