The Building Officials Association of Palm Beach County (BOAPBC) has been honored with the 2025 International Code Council (ICC) Chapter Merit Award, the first time in the chapter’s history it has received this prestigious distinction.
The ICC Chapter Merit Award recognizes chapters that excel in advancing building safety, fostering professional development, and providing outstanding service to their communities.
The Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning and Building Department’s (PZB) Building Division, an active member of BOAPBC, congratulated the organization and its members on the achievement. On Tuesday, Nov. 4, County Commissioner Gregg K. Weiss presented a Certificate of Commendation to BOAPBC members, including several from PZB’s Building Division.
“The Building Division is proud to play an active role in BOAPBC — whose current President, Joseph Anderson, serves as a Construction Services Associate within the Division. We are honored to celebrate this milestone alongside them,” said Melvin Corredor, Palm Beach County Building Official.
Whitney Carroll, Executive Director of PZB, added, “This award reflects the dedication and leadership of our local building officials, who work tirelessly to ensure safe and resilient construction throughout Palm Beach County.”
BOAPBC continues to promote building safety, innovation, and community service, and this national recognition underscores the chapter’s commitment to excellence and collaboration within the building industry.
