Established by Marjori Paul, Pearls of Life stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment to empowering females, particularly within the vibrant community of Little Haiti in South Florida.

Belief in women’s power

Speaking with NBC6, Paul emphasized the organization’s core principle that every woman possesses the potential to make a difference.

Recognizing the common struggle faced by many women in juggling multiple responsibilities, from familial duties to professional aspirations, Paul highlighted the pivotal role this played in the inception of Pearls of Life.

A focus on community outreach

Beyond individual empowerment, Pearls of Life prioritizes community outreach initiatives, especially within the Haitian-American community, where discussions on healthcare often take a backseat.

Despite the ongoing turmoil in Haiti casting a shadow over their endeavors, Pearls of Life remains steadfast in its commitment to making a positive impact.

Women’s empowerment luncheon

Undeterred by challenges, Pearls of Life pushes forward with its annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon, a cornerstone event that not only celebrates the achievements of women but also raises crucial funds for Haiti amidst the crisis.

As the organization rallies support for Haiti through its fundraiser, it serves as a beacon of hope for those grappling with the enduring struggles facing the nation, demonstrating the power of collective action in times of adversity.

Escalating violence and international response

Haiti has been gripped by a surge in gang violence, triggered by a daring prison raid that saw the release of thousands of inmates.

The ensuing unrest, coupled with demands for Prime Minister Ariel Henry’s resignation, prompted international pressure and ultimately led to Henry’s agreement to step aside for an interim government.

Efforts to bolster Haiti’s overwhelmed police force are underway, with plans in motion to provide much-needed assistance in restoring order amidst the chaos gripping the nation.
