The event will take place on September 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at 4060 NW 33rd Avenue, Lauderdale Lakes, FL.

The Aden Perry Hero Life Ring Initiative was created in honor of Aden Perry, a young hero who tragically lost his life while attempting to save a driver who had plunged into a lake. In a final act of bravery, Aden exhibited remarkable courage, and this initiative is dedicated to preserving his memory by promoting water safety.

The initiative aims to install life rings featuring Aden’s image and a lifesaving message at every body of water within the city to help prevent future tragedies. These life rings will provide a crucial resource for bystanders in emergency situations, allowing them to assist in water rescues without putting themselves at risk.

The initiative’s key message is “THROW, DON’T GO!”—a reminder to call 911, throw the life ring, and stay safe. The goal is to encourage safer rescue attempts and save lives by emphasizing that even the strongest swimmers can face danger when trying to perform water rescues.

The City of Lauderdale Lakes invites the community to join in commemorating Aden Perry’s legacy and learning more about water safety during this special ceremony.
