The Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF) is pumped to announce their upcoming Women’s Empowerment Conference, happening on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Marriott Harbor Bay Resort & Spa, from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
This event, timed perfectly for Women’s History Month, aims to ignite inspiration, foster empowerment, and honor the incredible accomplishments of women, with a special spotlight on Jamaican women.
This year also marks the 11th anniversary of JWOF, which continues to make significant strides with impactful community outreach, education, and mentorship programs.
Get ready for an incredible lineup of speakers at this year’s conference, featuring heavy hitters like Dr. Camelia Lawrence, Tessanne Chin, Cindy Breakspeare, and Sara Misir, all of whom have made major waves in their respective fields. And to keep the energy high, our emcee for the day will be none other than the dynamic and engaging Cathy Goodall, an acclaimed international speaker.
Janice McIntosh, President of JWOF, couldn’t be more thrilled about this event, saying, “This conference is all about celebrating the strength, resilience, and power of women. As we honor Women’s History Month and JWOF’s 11th anniversary, we’re reminded of the incredible impact women have on our world. It’s our pleasure to provide a platform for empowerment and inspiration, and we’re inviting everyone to come join in the celebration.”
Melody Home for Girls’ contribution
JWOF has a rich history of giving back to the community, both locally and internationally. Most recently, they chipped in a generous US$12,000 to help fund a transition home for residents of Melody House, a Home for Girls, offering support as they transition into adulthood.
Plus, they are actively involved in supporting local initiatives such as Food for the Poor, Broward Diaper Drive, Feeding the Homeless, Women in Distress, and the Broward Suit Drive.
So, mark your calendars! The Women’s Empowerment Conference is not just a chance to soak in wisdom from incredible speakers, but also an opportunity to support a fantastic cause. We urge you to snag your seats early and consider donating to help us keep the fire of education, mentorship, and community service burning bright.
