Fourth of July events in in Fort Lauderdale & beyond

As the Fourth of July approaches, cities across South Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, are gearing up to celebrate America’s independence with a dazzling array of events.

From beachside fireworks and patriotic parades to family-friendly festivities and live music, the region is set to ignite with excitement. Whether you’re a local or visiting the area, this guide will highlight the best places to experience the vibrant spirit of Independence Day in Fort Lauderdale and beyond. Here is a guide to events in some cities from Visit Fort Lauderdale.

Coral Springs

Fourth of July Celebration

July 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. Free event. 

Bring the whole family for this free event at Mullins Park, with more than a dozen food trucks, family-friendly activities, and live music on the center stage. Coral Springs residents can get an express pass to the trampoline experience and military obstacle course by registering at the Express Access booth. Fireworks will light the sky at 8:45 p.m.

Deerfield Beach

July 4 from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Free event.

Deerfield Beach is where you want to be for Independence Day, with entertainment by Nostaljah, Texas Twister: ZZ Top Show, Play it Again (Luke Bryan tribute band), and Alienation. Throughout the afternoon and evening, there will also be music, vendors, kids activities, and food trucks. Then look up, because at 9:05 p.m. fireworks will be lighting off from the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier. Free parking at Sullivan Park and St. Ambrose Catholic Church; cross the bridge by foot or hop on a shuttle from 3:30 to 6 p.m. and then from 11 p.m. to midnight.

Fort Lauderdale

4th of July Spectacular

July 4 from noon to 9:15 p.m. Free event.

The city’s Independence Day celebrations will be spread over three spaces on the beach, from the beach south of Las Olas Boulevard, Las Olas Oceanside Park (The LOOP), and Fort Lauderdale Beach. Bands S.O.U.L., Coyote Wild Band, and Reaxtion Band will be setting the tone for headliners En Vogue, who will be taking the main stage at 7:30 p.m. In the meantime, revelers can enjoy arts and crafts, face painting, water slides, and games. The highlight of the evening, a 23-minute fireworks show, begins at 8:45 p.m. on Fort Lauderdale Beach. This dazzling display is not to be missed.

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea

Fourth of July Parade and Family Fun Day

July 4 from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Free event.

This beach town kicks off the fun with a Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m., followed by a Family Fun Day at El Prado Park fit with face painting, a water slide, food, live music, and more. At 9 p.m., the skies over the beach will light up with an impressive fireworks display.

Miramar

July 4th Celebration

July 4 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Free event.

Join the City of Miramar for its July 4th Celebration, complete with a spectacular fireworks display at Miramar Regional Park. The fun begins with a DJ, food trucks, vendors, and a kids’ zone and closes out with a fireworks display.

Pompano Beach

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular

July 4 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Free event.

Pompano Beach’s Fisher Family Pier will be buzzing with live music from DJ Mike Cooley, Pan Paradise, and the FM Band Miami. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. Street metered parking will be $4 and the pier parking garage will be $20, cash only.

4th of July Dive & Fireworks

July 4 at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $90.

Join South Florida Diving Headquarters to watch the fireworks from a boat! Join the group at 6:30 p.m. for a festive dive, then enjoy food and soft drinks (alcohol is BYOB). The boat will be docked just off the Pompano Beach Pier for a one-of-a-kind fireworks show.

Plantation

Independence Day Celebration: The Olympic Spirit

July 4th from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Free event.

Gearing up for the Paris Olympics, the City of Plantation has themed its annual parade in honor of the sporting event. The parade begins at 9 a.m. from Broward Boulevard and Northwest 46th Avenue and ends at City Hall. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the public is invited for a Patriot Pool Day at the Plantation Aquatic Complex; residents swim for free. At 6 p.m., a kid’s fun zone opens its doors, followed by a free concert by Mr. Nice Guy at the north end of Central Park. Finally, fireworks pop off at 9 p.m.

Sunrise

July 4th Celebrations

July 4 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Free event.

The “Under the Sea” Parade & Family Fun Day kicks off festivities from 9 a.m. to noon, featuring marching bands and aquatic-themed floats that will proceed to City Park. A kid’s fun zone at the park offers snow cones, an inflatable water slide, an obstacle course, a rock wall, and other activities. At 6 p.m., the Amerant Bank Arena will host a live concert with ‘80s sensations The Cover Girls and Lisa Lisa. Fireworks will conclude the day’s events at 9:30 p.m.

Weston

Hometown Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration

July 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. Free event.

The City of Weston is getting the party started early by hosting its fireworks show on the eve of the Fourth Of July. As the Shane Duncan Band will provide the tunes from the stage, explore photo stations, craft booths, and food vendors. Then, fireworks will close out the night.

Fourth of July 5K Run/Walk

July 4 at 7:15 to 9:30 a.m. Cost: $34.50 to $45.

If you’re an early riser, join walkers and runners for the Fourth of July 5K Walk/Run at 7:15 a.m. within the Weston Town Center; at the finish line cool off at the hook and ladder shower. Don’t forget to wear your patriotic garb!

Hometown Fourth of July Celebration Parade

July 4 at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Free event.

The fun continues with a parade “Celebrating the American Dream,” starting from the corner of Town Center Boulevard and Three Village Road and finishing at the heart of Main Street. There, enjoy local live music, fire trucks, police vehicles, and community vendors. This year’s parade grand marshal is Angela Cohen, literacy coach at Indian Trace Elementary and 2024 Broward County Teacher of the Year Caliber Awards finalist.
