The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the Commercial Boulevard bridge and Northeast 42nd Street, in the area of Bayview Drive. Officials said the boat’s operator lost control, causing the vessel to strike the seawall and eject all four occupants into the water.

Emergency crews responded swiftly, with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transporting all four individuals to area hospitals. One victim was taken to a trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while two others sustained minor injuries. A fourth person was treated for injuries related to a near-drowning incident.

Witnesses reported seeing U.S. Coast Guard personnel in the area, though the Coast Guard later confirmed that local and state responders had already completed the rescue before their teams arrived.

As of Saturday morning, no additional details had been released about the victims or the events leading up to the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
