Delivery driver who hit a mother and infant before fleeing the scene Arrested

Detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department‘s Intracoastal District have arrested Sarahy Naybeth Parra-Ovalles for her involvement in a “hit-and-run” collision involving a mother and a 4-month-old infant.

According to investigators, on August 22nd, 2024, the victim was attempting to cross the intersection of NE 7th Avenue and NE 191 Street while pushing her 4-month-old son in a stroller and walking her dog when a vehicle being driven by the Parra-Ovalles struck her and the infant. The collision caused the mother to be knocked off of her feet and the infant to be knocked out of his stroller and onto the ground.

After the crash, Parra-Ovalles is seen exiting her vehicle, setting the stroller upright, and placing the infant back into the stroller before fleeing the scene. The mother and son were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue where they were treated for their injuries. Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Ms. Parra-Ovalles. On August 23rd, 2024 Ms. Parra-Ovalles was arrested and charged for leaving the Scene of a Crash and Serious Bodily Injury
