Broward Health proudly welcomed 16 administrative interns for its 2025 summer internship program during a breakfast reception held on June 2 at Broward Health Medical Center.
The event featured keynote speaker Madison Workman, chief operating officer at Broward Health North. Workman shared words of encouragement and challenged the incoming interns to make the most of their experience.
“Some of you are here with dreams of becoming doctors, nurses, administrators, or maybe even the next CEO of Broward Health,” Workman said. “Others are exploring where your talents and passions align within the endless world of healthcare. No matter where you come from, you belong here, and you have something valuable to contribute.”
The 2025 interns represent a diverse range of academic institutions across Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Virginia. Over the course of the program, they will work across 11 departments throughout the Broward Health system, gaining hands-on experience in hospital operations and healthcare administration.
Workman left the interns with a meaningful message: “Be curious, don’t just do the tasks assigned to you, understand the why. Be present, it’s easy to get distracted by what’s next, stay grounded in the moment. Be human, the best professionals are not just skilled, but compassionate.”
The interns are currently enrolled at the following institutions: Florida International University, University of Florida, Florida Atlantic University, University of Tennessee, University of Central Florida, Florida State University, Michigan State University, Florida A&M University, University of Virginia, and Broward College.
The internship program is part of Broward Health’s ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare leaders by providing early career professionals with mentorship, exposure, and real-world experience.
