Broward County OESBD to host Kauffman FastTrac NewVenture Information Session on April 8

Broward County

The Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) is inviting aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage founders across Broward County to attend a Kauffman FastTrac NewVenture Information Session on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale.

The session is designed to provide new and emerging entrepreneurs with tools to strengthen business ideas and prepare for long-term growth. Attendees will learn best practices for completing the application to OESBD’s competitive 10-module entrepreneurship program, which focuses on developing sustainable business models.

Participants will also receive an overview of the NewVenture™ curriculum, insights into program expectations, and guidance on how to position business ideas for success.

Graduates of the full course will be eligible to participate in OESBD’s Pitch Competition, where winners can secure seed funding to help launch or expand their ventures.

Space for the Kauffman NewVenture™ course is limited to 20 participants, with only the strongest applications selected. Organizers say the information session serves as an important first step for individuals interested in joining the program.

OESBD is encouraging Broward County-based small business owners and entrepreneurs to take advantage of what officials describe as a valuable pathway to entrepreneurship and economic mobility.

The program is a service of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.
