Allapattah Branch Library closed for construction of new Dulce Vida development

Allapattah Branch Library

The Allapattah Branch Library closed to the public on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, as part of a construction project tied to the new Dulce Vida Apartments affordable and workforce housing development.

The Coral Rock Development Group project, which is expected to take approximately 19 months, will include a new, state-of-the-art library on the ground floor of the development. The replacement branch will feature approximately 8,500 square feet of space—up from the current 5,200—along with a multipurpose community meeting room equipped with audio/visual technology, co-working and study spaces, and dedicated main, young adult, and children’s reading areas, including a storytime section.

Additional upgrades will include energy-efficient LED lighting, impact-resistant windows, new furniture, shelving, and fixtures, public computers with high-speed Wi-Fi, USB charging ports throughout, and digital information screens.

During the construction period, a temporary Allapattah Branch Library is expected to open nearby in March 2026 to continue providing library services. Details on the temporary location will be shared closer to the opening date.

Library patrons are also encouraged to visit nearby Miami-Dade Public Library System branches at:
