In response to an influx of service requests and the confirmed surge in mosquito activity following the recent rain, the Mosquito Control Section is gearing up for aerial spraying in some areas.
This will be done over select regions of Southwest Ranches, Davie, and Pembroke Pines this Friday, December 1, weather permitting.
Targeting mosquitoes post-rainfall
This upcoming aerial adulticide spraying operation seeks to combat the persistent mosquito nuisance that has intensified due to heavy rains and flooding caused by a recent storm.
The spraying is scheduled to take place between 2 PM and 6 PM.
Residents, particularly those with respiratory concerns are advised to exercise caution and remain indoors during this period.
Alerts for informed residents
For residents residing in the affected areas who have previously registered with the State to receive advance notifications ahead of aerial spraying, they can expect to be promptly alerted.
