The Florida Legislature established the Purple Star designation in 2021 to recognize schools that demonstrate a commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by military-connected students. The program emphasizes providing tailored resources and support to ensure smooth transitions for military families entering new school environments.

This recognition highlights the dedication of M-DCPS to fostering inclusive and supportive learning spaces for all students, including those with ties to the military community.
