Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss stated, “There was a dispute between two customers, and it appears one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other.”

Investigators reported that the victim, later identified as 27-year-old Anthony Souvenir, was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition after being shot in front of several employees and customers, including small children, who were inside the Walgreens when the shots were fired. Despite efforts to save him, Souvenir was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss stated, “There were other customers inside. We are talking to them.” He added, “We’ve also brought in a social worker to ensure they’re okay, as witnessing something like this can be a deeply traumatic experience for anyone who was just trying to run an errand.”
