The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced a significant achievement for the country’s tourism industry, reporting 26 consecutive months of positive growth, a streak that began in September 2022.

This achievement underscores Grenada’s resilience and strategic vision, as the island continues to position itself as a premier destination for travelers worldwide.

Over the past two years, Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique have attracted increasing numbers of visitors, demonstrating the strength of the destination’s offerings and its appeal on the global tourism market. The tourism authority attributes much of this success to its focused approach on sustainability, community-based tourism, and the island’s commitment to high-quality experiences.

A key factor in this growth has been Grenada’s focus on sustainable tourism practices, aiming to preserve the environment while offering enriching experiences for visitors. The island’s commitment to maintaining its natural beauty, through eco-friendly initiatives and supporting green hotels and activities, has resonated strongly with environmentally conscious travelers. The GTA has been working on promoting tourism experiences that allow visitors to explore Grenada’s natural wonders, from hiking through rainforests to diving in pristine coral reefs.

Additionally, the GTA has strengthened its partnerships with international airlines, increasing air connectivity and making it easier for travelers to visit the island. Enhanced flight schedules have been critical in attracting new visitors, particularly from key markets such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

A standout moment in Grenada’s tourism calendar came in 2023, when the island experienced a 30 percent increase in arrivals during the first quarter compared to the previous year. This surge in visitor numbers was a direct result of the strategic initiatives set by the Grenada Tourism Authority, including the expansion of direct flight routes and promotions aimed at attracting international visitors.

In December 2023, Grenada achieved a historic milestone, surpassing 20,000 visitor arrivals in a single month for the first time. This achievement is a testament to the island’s increasing recognition as a sought-after Caribbean destination. The GTA has worked tirelessly to promote the island’s rich cultural heritage, culinary offerings, world-class beaches, and vibrant festivals, which have all contributed to the surge in tourism.
