Jamaican mechanic charged after reportedly caught with cop’s stolen vehicle

A 40-year-old Jamaican mechanic has been charged after reportedly being held with a policeman’s stolen vehicle.

Magiol Francis, also known as ‘Wingie’ of Arnett Gardens St. Andrew, is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

According to police reports, a Toyota Probox motor car was taken from the residence of a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force in Greater Portmore, St Catherine, at 3:50 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022.

The police say the car was then discovered at Francis’ residence and he was apprehended the same day.

Police say Francis gave caution statement about how he obtained the vehicle.

The mechanic was charged on Tuesday, January 3.

He is to appear at St. Catherine Parish Court on Friday, January 13.
