A Jamaican Justice of the Peace (JP), who is also a paralegal clerk, has been arrested and charged with fraudulent conversion and engaging in a criminal property transaction.
The accused is 50-year-old Georgia Messam-Whyte of Village Green, St. Ann. She was charged by the Fraud Squad of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Reports are that occurred between September 2018 and April 2019, Green received over $27 million from the complainant to purchase a property. However, it is alleged that she failed to turn over the funds to the contracted attorney.
The JP was arrested following investigations.
She is to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on February 16.
