Jamaican arrested for alleged credit card scam in Cayman Islands

Davoy Palmer, a 25-year-old Jamaican man, is scheduled for another court appearance on October 2 following his arrest earlier this month on fraud charges in the Cayman Islands.

Authorities took Palmer into custody after he allegedly engaged in a scam targeting a local food delivery app.

Multiple aliases, multiple charges

According to reports, Palmer is accused of using multiple aliases to make credit card purchases.

Upon his arrest on September 14, the authorities charged him with three counts of obtaining property by deception. 

Additionally, Palmer faces charges for overstaying his permitted time in the Cayman Islands.

Uncertain entry status

Details regarding Palmer’s entry into the Cayman Islands remain unclear. The local police did not disclose whether he entered the country on a visitor’s visa or holds a work permit.
