Lifelong racing fan turns JMD$20K bet into $11M jackpot at Caymanas Park

The thrill of the track soared to new heights recently when M. Parker, a lifelong horse racing enthusiast, walked away with a massive $11 million win from a $20,000 Twilight Six wager at Caymanas Park. The payout is the largest recorded at the historic racetrack in the last three years.

For Parker, the victory wasn’t just a stroke of luck—it was the result of decades of dedication to a sport he’s cherished since childhood. Now a seasoned bettor, Parker first fell in love with horseracing over 30 years ago, originally dreaming of becoming a jockey.

“I have always loved horse racing,” Parker shared. “I wanted to become a jockey as a child, but it didn’t work out. But I still enjoy racing—so even if I’m not betting, I watch the races on television. I’ve been a part of the sport for so many years and have learned to take it seriously.”

That seriousness is evident in his careful betting strategy. Parker meticulously studies race information on the Caymanas Park website to guide his picks—a method that has paid off handsomely throughout the years, culminating in this record-breaking Twilight Six win.

The $11 million haul is Parker’s biggest to date, and he plans to put it to good use. A portion will go toward his family’s school expenses, and the rest will help complete his dream home—an ongoing project that, fittingly, he’s been funding exclusively through horse racing winnings.

Christel deRizzio, Vice President of Caymanas Park, praised Parker as an integral part of the racing community. “He is not only a successful punter. He’s a person who gives back to the community and supports his family through his passion for horse racing,” she said.

Parker also spoke about how the sport has evolved, crediting changes like the removal of racing holidays, the improvement in race quality, and the development of a proper jockey school as positive steps. “These changes are helping the sport,” he said.

He also welcomed the convenience of online platforms like MBet, which allow him to place bets when he can’t make it to the track. “Many punters like myself support our families through this. Whether you’re betting at the park or online, SVREL pays your winnings. That gives us confidence in the system,” he added.

Caymanas Park, operated by Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), hosts live races on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays—except for Christmas Day and Good Friday. Fans can wager at the venue or online through the Supreme Ventures Games platform.

For Parker, this life-changing win is the payoff for a passion that never faded—even when the dream of becoming a jockey didn’t come true.
