Dr. Horace Chang, Minister of National Security, said the ZOSOs are still relevant and robust, adding that they bring about a sustainable transformation of communities and restore a sense of optimism for the people who inhabit within and near the zones.

According to Chang, with the Zones of Special Operations, equal attention is placed on restoring and preserving order and safety, as well as increasing the human capital element and the life outcomes of the residents.

Chang also said the impact of the ZOSOs can only be fully realized if the investment and initiatives are sustained over a medium to long-term period.

He also said the respective zones will continue to transition along the clear-hold-build spectrum resulting in positive crime reduction results.

The security minister further said establishing a thorough monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework to support and track the progress and transformative actions under the ZOSOs is vital in determining its impact.
