The Jamaican police are searching for eight prisoners who escaped from the Black River police lock-up on Monday morning.

During routine checks conducted between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. by personnel, the men were discovered missing.
Investigations revealed that the prisoners escaped through the facility’s ventilation system.
A high-level meeting involving police commanders was held at the Black River police headquarters regarding the incident.
