All Jamaican ministers of government, including cabinet ministers, the attorney general and ministers of state, are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
This was confirmed on Friday by Prime Minister Andrew Holness who himself is fully vaccinated. Holness had promised at a COVID press conference last week to check to see whether all ministers were vaccinated.
He said while vaccination is a private matter, he anticipated that a significant number of ministers had taken the shot.
Holness said he had received permission from each individual to make their vaccination status public.
All members of parliament and senators of the People’s National Party have also been vaccinated, according to party President Mark Golding.
