This photo was taken in Brazil during the first ever World Indigenous Games. Two thousands athletes from 50 ethnic groups and 23 countries compete in events ranging from football and tug of war to indigenous disciplines such as xikunahity, archery and canoeing.
All these sports are taking place against a background of cultural exchange and understandin .
The Games are held in the city of Palmas in the state Tocantins which is populated by seven ethnicities.
