Tabou Combo and Naïka to headline Haitian Heritage Month concert in Miramar

In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, the City of Miramar is turning up the rhythm with a night of music and culture featuring legendary Haitian band Tabou Combo and rising Haitian-American star Naïka.

The concert will take place on Saturday, May 31, at 8:00 PM at the Miramar Cultural Center, located at 2400 Civic Center Place.

The event, hosted by Mayor Wayne Messam, is part of the 16th anniversary celebration of the Miramar Cultural Center and continues the city’s tradition of honoring its rich cultural diversity through the arts. Miramar is one of South Florida’s most diverse cities, with a vibrant Haitian community, reflecting the hundreds of thousands of Haitians who call Broward County and South Florida home.

Tabou Combo, often referred to as Haiti’s musical ambassadors, has spent decades thrilling global audiences with their infectious compas rhythms and vibrant stage presence. Their music has become a symbol of Haitian identity and pride. Tabou Combo was the first Haitian band to perform in Japan, Ivory Coast, Senegal, among others, and was named the “Official Panamanian Band” in Panama due to their popularity, while also becoming the first Caribbean band to have a number one single in the French Hit Parade.

Joining them on stage is Naïka, whose dynamic sound blends pop, Afro-Caribbean, and world influences. Her soulful voice and modern style promise to bring a fresh edge to the evening, appealing to both new listeners and longtime fans of Haitian music.
