Shenseea and Vybz Kartel drop second collab ‘Panic’

Dancehall heavyweights Shenseea and Vybz Kartel have officially released their brand-new single, “Panic,” which dropped today, February 20, as part of New Music Friday.

Within hours of its release, the track shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Reggae Songs chart, proving once again that when these two link up, the results are explosive.

“Panic” arrives almost ten years after their breakout collaboration, Loodi, which became an anthem while Kartel was still incarcerated. That record introduced Shenseea to a global audience and cemented the chemistry between the Gaza boss and the then-rising star.

Now, with Kartel officially back on the scene and wasting no time reclaiming his throne, the duo reconnect with a record that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly current.

Produced by TJ Records, “Panic” blends Kartel’s unmistakable gritty lyricism with Shenseea’s smooth, sing-song delivery. The result is a track that balances raw dancehall energy with melodic finesse.

The beat leans into traditional dancehall drum patterns but carries a polished, international edge designed for Caribbean street dances and global playlists alike. It’s infectious, vibrant, and unmistakably Jamaican. Simply put: it sounds like summer.

Kartel’s commanding presence drives the record, while Shenseea’s vocals add flair and crossover appeal, creating a dynamic push-and-pull that fans have been craving since “Loodi.”

“Panic” is expected to serve as the lead single from Kartel’s forthcoming album, God and Time, which the deejay has revealed will feature 14 tracks. According to Kartel, the project will include major collaborations and music focused heavily on the ladies, an area he has long dominated with chart-topping hits.

Since his release from prison, Kartel’s comeback has been relentless. From surprise fashion drops to high-profile features, the dancehall icon has demonstrated that his influence never waned—if anything, it has grown stronger.

With “Panic” debuting at No. 1 and already dominating conversations across social media, it’s clear the Gaza general is not easing back into the spotlight—he’s charging full speed ahead.

For Shenseea, the track marks another strategic move in her steady climb as one of dancehall’s most versatile global ambassadors.

Summer may still be months away, but thanks to Shenseea and Vybz Kartel, the heat has officially arrived.
