Caribbean Culture Fund announces information session for inaugural grants

According to a recent news release from CCF, individuals keen on engaging with the initiative can secure their spot by promptly reaching out via email to info@caribbeanculturefund.org.

Supporting arts and culture across the Caribbean

A fresh addition to the landscape, CCF emerges as a beacon for individuals and organizations within the arts and culture sector throughout the Caribbean region. 

With a staunch commitment to advancing social and cultural justice while nurturing intercultural dialogue, the fund pledges its backing to a diverse array of artistic endeavors. 

From visual and literary arts to performing and festival arts, film, interdisciplinary forms, architecture, and design, CCF stands poised to amplify creativity and innovation.

Call for proposals opens

April 1 marked the commencement of the first call for proposals, a window that will remain open until April 30. 

During this period, prospective applicants are encouraged to submit their proposals, seizing the opportunity to secure support for their artistic visions. 

Notably, applications for the information session can also be submitted within this timeframe, ensuring ample opportunity for engagement.

Expanding reach, enhancing impact

For this initial round of grants, eligible countries encompass Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. 

However, CCF has outlined plans to broaden its scope in subsequent calls, aiming to extend its reach across the region. The overarching goal remains steadfast: to foster a vibrant, interconnected creative community.

Investment in creativity

A significant allocation of US $250,000 underscores CCF’s commitment to empowering creatives and catalyzing artistic endeavors. 

This substantial funding pool seeks to provide tangible support to individuals and organizations striving to make their mark within the cultural landscape.

Leadership and guidance

At the helm of CCF’s endeavors stand Michele Pierre-Louis, Chair of the CCF Steering Committee, and Dr. Ayoka Wiles of the Open Society Foundation, primary funders of this inaugural round of grants. 

Together, they will lend their expertise and insights during the information session, guiding prospective applicants through the application process and addressing any queries that may arise.

In essence, the upcoming information session represents not only an opportunity to gain vital knowledge but also a pivotal step towards realizing artistic ambitions.
