The talented camper’s will perform their twist of the Cult Classic FAME. FAME Jr. is based on the hit motion picture which was turned into a long-running television series and will be co-directed by JoMarie Payton (TV personality, Singer, Actress, Director) from the hit TV show, Family Matters. JoMarie will be available for interviews before the performance.

There will be 2 performances: A matinee ideal for camp groups on Thursday, August 1st at 10:30am and an evening show for family, friends and the community-at-large on Friday August 2nd at 7:30pm. Both performances will be at the Miramar Cultural Center 2400 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025.

FAME Jr. is set during the last years of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street. The musical follows the bittersweet but inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work in order to achieve their dream of “hitting the heights” and putting their “name in lights.” With insight and humor, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today, including prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy and perseverance. Fame JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Tickets are available now at TicketMaster.com or the Box Office located at the Miramar Cultural Center. For more information regarding MCC’s Education programs, shows and initiatives, call (954) 602-4519 or email Education@MiramarCulturalCenter.org.
